استراتيجية تطبيق قانون العمل

Under the patronage and presence of the Minister of Labor Mr. Sejaan Azzi, a coalition of non-governmental organizations, activists, lawyers and influential persons, organized a conference in Hotel Monroe, Beirut on 29/1/2016 to shed the light on the challenges that face the Lebanese employees, discuss tools needed, and the opportunities to guarantee a proper application for the Labor Law.

Dr. Khouloud AlKhatib represented LOUDER in a speech where she pointed on the ability of Lebanon to meet economic challenges and to develop a dynamic, cohesive economy. She assured that the rebuilding process depends on the quality of institutions and improvement at the legal and administrative level. Lebanon is characterized with economic and political instability, lack of trust, lack of physical infrastructure, poor governance and poor working conditions in addition to lack of guaranteeing rights and bearing responsibilities.
Dr. Khatib described the status quo and how the unemployment is increasing being accompanied with social and economic challenges, and unsatisfactory living conditions. Most of workers are involved in intensive labor with low wages and are excluded from security scheme. This status affects the Lebanese workers and minimizes their capability to pressure and preserve, and entitles their deprival of all the social protective means.
